Librarian Robert Jenness I feel compelled to talk to you this month about relationships. Whether we realize it or not, we participate in relationships almost constantly. Whether it is the people we work with, the people we socialize with, the clerk at the grocery store or gas station, or those people that are special in our lives; these are all relationships How we chose to be in those relationships is up to us.. It defines us as human beings. It is how we are judged in the world and where the people we come in contact with will form their opinions of us. So how will you be? Will the people that come in contact with you have a good or not so good impression after they have contact with you? Some people don’t care about this fact, and it shows. Others will be cognizant of this fact, and try and a least be pleasant and smile even if they really don’t want to. But ultimately, it’s up to you. What impression do you want to leave this world with is entirely up to you. It’s a choice we make at any given moment. We can even chose to still love the ones that hurt us. I don’t know about you, but I can’t turn my feelings on and off like a light switch! I’m not sure anyone can. I will chose at any given moment to love those that I love regardless of their actions, even actions I don’t like or agree with. It’s my choice and their chose! So that brings us to the members of fraternal organizations. Will those that know you to be a member of a Masonic Lodge or an Eastern Star Chapter regard you as someone they can trust and admire! Will your contact with them form a favorable opinion of our work in the community? Will it spark an interest in these organizations? I believe that all members have chosen to be there because they want to be there. And I hope you realize the way you are not only reflects on you, but all the things associated with you; which include the organizations you have chosen to be a member of. I hope you chose to be that spark. The organization is you! Without you, there is no organization! The kind word or gesture costs you nothing, but the rewards can be spectacular! Fraternally, Michael Penney Worshipful Master St John's Lodge 51 WANTED Brothers who would like to step up and help sustain their Lodge. We are in need of individuals to fill future open Officer Positions! St John’s is looking for a new Secretary to take Jeff’s place; as he is not continuing next year. Please let me know about this or any other position you might be able to help us with. It can’t happen without you! ALSO WANTED Those Officers that have been noticeably absent. We need you! We need you back in Lodge and you need to be with us. Come back! . SECRETARIES MESSAGE I hope everyone has a great summer as this is the last Trestle board until fall. I would ask one last time we still have over 30 members that have not paid dues yet. Check your wallet, if you card is expired please send them in. I will be sending out second notices during the summer.
We are in the process of starting an electronic Trestle Board. By doing so, the Lodge will save money on printing and mailing costs and help the planet by reducing waste.
